THINKING BUSINESS

I know I’ve mentioned this before but it came up in conversation again last night at Croydon Dental Seminars, where I engaged with an audience of approaching 100 dentists and team members on the subject of the future of web sites.

My earlier prediction was that “the web site” as such is going to be superseded by social media platforms as the principle way in which the public and your patients interact with you and your business.

Given that premise, I further predict that Facebook will remain dominant in that respect (and will seamlessly integrate Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp in the process).

Imagine, if you will, a future in which the public and patients engage with you through their devices (smartphones and wearable tech), whether it’s their initial research for a suitable dentist, through first contact, booking appointments, treatment planning, preventative maintenance, ongoing diagnostics on their oral health, plan membership and payments.

Imagine further, that your Facebook Business Page becomes a primary means by which you attract new patients at relatively low cost but with a measurable ROI that justifies your investment.

I’m planning for my own web site to decline in importance and I have been researching the ways in which a Facebook Business Page can become an integrated part of my UE (user experience).

A few months ago (and in anticipation of these changes) I began the process of transitioning away from my personal “Chris Barrow” Facebook Profile (limited to 5,000 friends and full – there’s a waiting list) towards my professional “Coach Barrow” Facebook Business Page (769 followers as of this morning – and I’m inviting 50 personal friends every day to like the Page – when that is complete I’ll be conducting a GDPR-like cull of the Profile).

Over the months ahead I’ll be introducing some innovative new features to the Business Page, using technology that it has taken me a year to pin down.

I’m not giving the game away, preferring to be judged on results rather than promises, but I do guarantee that if you take the trouble to follow my Business Page, you are going to see some business growth ideas that are transferable into your dental practice.

I’m also very confident that you are going to see some technology that is completely unique in the business of dentistry – nobody else that I know is going down this pathway.

To top it all – you can share my journey into the business of Facebook Business Pages completely free of charge.
