Younger dentists and NHS income

I’m grateful to Bonnie, who forwarded this link to me yesterday:

Interesting stats on the percentage of salaries from cosmetic dentistry in the under 35s:In 2000-1, 65% of the income of dentists under the age of 35 came from the NHS, but by 2005-6 that had nearly halved to 36%. This compares to dentists in the older age groups who have seen a much smaller change. Dentists aged 55 and over received 58% of their income from the NHS in 2000-1, but by 2005-6 it had fallen to 47%. Dentists aged 45 to 54 saw a shift from 55% to 44%.
