Boring meetings - how to make them more popular and effective

Most people, when asked about meetings, will volunteer that most of the meetings they attend seem to be a waste of time.

Meetings have bad press.

Why is that?

Meetings are only of any use if they fulfil the CDA objective:

C = Consider

D = Decide

A = Act

You consider an issue, challenge, question.

You decide on a solution about which there is common agreement.

You take action by allocating a deadline and the person(s) responsible.

(in this context, a reminder of a great little book - "Six Thinking Hats" by Edward de Bono).

Make your meetings better by employing the CDA test.

That applies to a morning huddle as well.

p.s. The blog is taking its annual sabbatical in Greece from tomorrow and will be back on Monday 12th August.
