Game face

Forgive me if I'm repeating myself - but yet again, my last sleep of a week's holiday (in other words. the night before I start work again) has me waking at 02:00.

I spend an hour dozing, then move to the spare bedroom to read my Rouleur cycling magazine for half an hour, before lights out again and another hour or so of "head full of stuff" in the dark.

Eventually back to sleep at around 04:30 - and wake to my alarm an hour later, dreaming (of course) that I'm out on my bike.

So first day back at my desk and I feel ragged before a busy week ahead.

I'm not worried about anything - quite the opposite.

I've mentioned before this syndrome of entrepreneurial sleeplessness and tonight I'll be moving in to "sleep protect mode" with a variety of routines and rituals designed to improve my chances.

No matter how detoxed and unstressed I feel, this insomnia seems to have become a self-fulfilling prophecy. I know that it isn't just me.

Ah well - here we go again, with emails, tasks, meetings and even a webinar later this afternoon for an overseas audience.

Game face - on.
