The news that Bill Moyes will leave the GDC in September will come as a relief, no doubt, to many who are unlikely to join in any celebration of his time in office.
The McCarthyist witch hunt over which he presided in the name of patient safety is best forgotten (although not the lessons learned).
We now find ourselves about to come under the gaze of yet another career Quango leader, Baron Harris of Haringey, whose Wikipedia entry makes for interesting reading.
It is, of course, inappropriate to judge before the Baron has had a chance to prove himself (just as it was inappropriate to treat dentists as guilty until proven innocent for the last few decades).
So let’s cross our fingers and wait and see shall we?
