Thank you Mike

After yesterday's post on the dangers of poorly costed dental plans - a flurry of useful comments on the various social media channels in which the post appeared.

Also, a direct message from Mike Hesketh, to talk about his plan at Dartmoor Dental in Tavistock - and how they have made sure it was profitable (as well as good value for the patients).

I started by asking Mike for permission to share his observations on my Tuesday evening client call - then (nothing to lose) asked if he would join us as a surprise guest.

To my delight, he agreed and, last night, gave us an hour's tour de force, not only on the plan, but clinician remuneration, recruitment and answers to many other questions.

It's the measure of the man that he did that - no notice, no pay, no immediate gain - just a long-term investment in spreading goodwill and knowledge.

As I reminded Mike this morning (when I thanked him again) - we all plant acorns from which oak trees grow.

I'm even more excited that Mike will be our visiting guest lecturer in Q4 of 2025 - can't wait.

What a heartfelt tribute. It's always inspiring to see someone recognized for the positive impact they've had on others. The appreciation and memories shared here show how much one person can influence a community. Wishing Mike all the best, and may the next chapter bring new opportunities as exciting as exploring new space waves of possibility.
