Birmingham this morning and the 4th of 7 workshops to be delivered by Sarah Buxton - her HR Masterclass, covering every aspect of employment legislation from hiring to firing.
You would think this a dry subject, but delegates have been unanimous so far in praising Sarah for her content, as well as her speaking abilities.
I keep introducing Sarah as "the mine-detector and bomb disposal expert" - you get my drift.
Each time I've sat at the back of the room (admittedly working) but with one ear on proceedings, and each time I've picked up some nugget of information that escaped me beforehand.
Which has me reflecting that training is one of those "never-not" activities - repetition is the key to embedding knowledge and skill.
Two questions for you to ponder this morning:
When was the last time your team were trained?
How often is that training repeated, refreshed or enhanced?
Membership of The Extreme Business 100 provides that automatically, of course, with varied workshops every 12 weeks throughout the year.
p.s. the other regular feedback is that team members enjoy the banter in the car, on the train, as they travel to and from the venue - top tip - get your training off-site.

This is a fantastic reflection on the enduring value of continuous training! It's so true that subjects like HR legislation, while critical, can feel dry, but a skilled presenter like Sarah Buxton clearly makes all the difference, transforming it into an engaging "mine-detector and bomb disposal expert" experience. The point about training being a "never-not" activity really resonates. Repetition and off-site learning, as you highlighted, are excellent strategies for embedding knowledge. It reminds me how important it is to keep refining skills, much like how one might refine AI video prompts for optimal results. Speaking of which, for anyone interested in honing their AI video creation, checking out Sora Prompt could be incredibly useful for generating professional prompts. Thanks for…
The way you presented complex information so simply is remarkable. I admire your ability to convey such detailed information in an accessible way. wheelie party
