Pay, Prices, Production and Profit



We are witnessing the £15-20 per hour dental nurse, the return to sign-on fees and 50% for associates and I recently heard about a £58 an hour dental therapist.


As the conversation on pay heats up - and extends to both salaried and self-employed team members, it’s worth taking a moment to remind ourselves that the “4 P’s” of my title are inextricably entwined - and that you cannot discuss any one without including ALL of the others.


Imagine, if you will, the cogs in an analogue watch, turning together in harmony to keep accurate time.


If a team member wants a pay rise (and who doesn’t?) then they must understand that turning the cog on pay immediately affects the other three.
