How FaceAge AI is inspiring a smarter way to market cosmetic dentistry

One of the smartest marketing techniques I have seen for some time is FaceAge, an idea developed by dermatology company Novos.
You can visit their website (link below), take a portrait photo, leave your email address and consent - and then sit back and wait for them to send you the results - an AI-driven indication of "how old your face looks", as well as scores for the apparent age of your eyes and other facial characteristics.
Yes - of course I took the test - and was delighted to discover that my "FaceAge" was 63, even though my biological age is 71.
Result - (and that was on a bad morning - I was knackered).
Not to keep you waiting any longer - here is the link:
So whilst you are waiting for your results (and to then be added to their mailing list).....
What is so brilliant about this data capturing idea is that it plays into our insatiable curiosity about - ourselves.
So it had me thinking - about smile simulation software - and the extent to which a similar idea might be used by a dental practice.
It seems so obvious - "would you like to see a video simulation of what you would look like with a new smile?"
I'm fully aware that practices are using the simulation software as part of a new patient assessment or their treatment planning.
How's about using it as a data capture mechanism, so that you can then build your email database for marketing?
(p.s. I've recently upgraded to the new Whoop 5.0 and a top level subscription that includes their "Healthspan" feature - an assessment of my "health age" as opposed to biological age.
Fascinatingly (for me), after reading all of my body metrics, I'm told that me Health Age is 62.4 years - same as FaceAge and another good result.)
