Why spending 12 months destroying your business plans can be good for you

In recent weeks I’ve been (sometimes publicly) creating my 2019 calendar and business plan – the culmination of 12 months in which I’ve been listening to my Tribe, my team and my business coach.

A word that describes the process well would be DISRUPTIVE.

In September I’ll be launching my 2019 programme, incorporating significant changes and enhancements to the services provided to my community.

This morning I’m not going to elaborate on that (you’ll have heard all about it soon enough) but I do want to reflect, for a moment, on the process of creative destruction:

  1. what do you like best about your business and your life?

  2. what do you like least about your business and your life?

  3. what would you most like to change, whilst retaining (and growing) your profitability, productivity, balance and the value delivered to your patients/clients?

Arguably the most important part of this process is to list the things, situations and people that you are tolerating – and set about removing them.

I hired Rachel Turner as my business coach a year ago and she has guided me through the above process with a firm hand, tolerating none of my nonsense.

Please note – I’m supposed to be good at helping you with this stuff but it has taken me a full year of coaching to redesign my life in a way that is realistic and satisfactory.

That’s 12 months in the design phase and now a further 6 months in implementation for a January 2019 launch.

Sustainable coaching isn’t a quick fix.

Designing the life that you really want to show up for can often involved making some PIVOTAL and DISRUPTIVE changes.

Let me share with you that you’ll feel uncomfortable during the process but hugely better as a result.
