If a furniture store can measure performance, your dental practice can too

There is no performance without accountability, and no accountability without measurement
There is no performance without accountability, and no accountability without measurement

Quite a few months ago we ordered a small something for our lounge from Furniture World (I say "we", I mean Annie) - and it arrived on Saturday morning at around 08:00.

The big blue van reversed up our cul-de-sac and "Stu and Steve" knocked on the door. What you might call very typical Northern blokes in their late-50's?

Having placed a bit of spare carpet on the living room floor (to protect ours), said item was unpacked and placed under our window in no time at all.

We had a bit of banter as this happened - the usual stuff about the weather, about finding our new address with SatNav, about the dog (singular 😔).

Just as they were about to leave, Stu and Steve handed me a small business card, on which was printed a QR code.

"Can we ask you a favour please?

If you scan that cord it will take you to TrustPilot and you can leave a review.

If you do that, would you please mention our names.

It would be really helpful, because if we don't collect enough reviews we get pulled up by Head Office, who want to know why we haven't."

So, even at Furniture World - there is no performance without accountability, and no accountability without measurement.

Imagine suggesting to your clinicians that they were going to be held accountable for the number of reviews collected (let alone other members of your team).

If a furniture company can do it..........
