Don't be a dick when it comes to money



On Thursday October 5th I'll be presenting a full-day workshop at the Dentinal Tubules Congress 2023.

Because I refuse to pull any punches when it comes to talking about:

  • Why the majority of associates/therapists/hygienists LOSE MONEY for the practices they work at - and what to do about it;

  • Why the current staff demands for pay rises MUST BE CHALLENGED (even though you are scared of losing team members) - and what to do about it;

  • Why the basis on which many dental corporates value and buy practices IS A LOSE/WIN for the owner/corporate - and how to sell when you want, for how much you want, without regrets.

I'm a bit worried about the threat of assassination before I get to the end of my day but somebody has to tell the truth about the numbers.

10 years ago, I took part in a reality survival show. Before we left for the Pacific, all the castaways were interviewed by a consultant psychologist (to assess for suicide risk). After completing his interview, he asked me if I had any questions about the forthcoming experience. I asked:


"I know that millions will be watching this - how do I avoid saying something that the Producers take out of context, edit, broadcast and turn me into the bad guy?"


He replied:


"Don't be a dick."
