an interview with Dr. Mahrukh Khwaja - Dentist, Positive Psychologist (MAPP) and Founder of Mind Ninja
With mental health at the top of the agenda for leaders, managers and in our own lives, we welcomed Dr. Mahrukh Khwaja to this month’s podcast to discover how she has used her own experiences with burnout and depression to help others in dentistry.
After qualifying from Kings in 2010, she ended up in a workplace that was toxic and, by 2016, as her marriage came to an end, was displaying all the symptoms of burnout and depression.
Using a combination of self-discovery, intervention research and upskilling as a qualified Positive Psychologist and accredited mindfulness teacher, she began a journey that has led to the authorship of two books (one due for release in January 2023) and career as a trainer, coach and writer on the subject of resilience and thriving for dental professionals and teams.
In this podcast you will learn:
The evolution of mindfulness;
The discoveries made in intervention research;
Whether dentists ever do recognise that they have a problem?
Top tips to avoid and/or assist with burn out;
To what extent (if any) the response to mental health challenges is gender related;
How to access The Mindfulness Toolkit;
A preview of Mahrukh’s new book, Resilience and Well-being for Dental Professionals
Join us for a fascinating insight into a very topical subject.
