A new member of the dental team
The question for dental owners is no longer whether AI will influence our work. It is whether we learn to use it properly, safely and practically before confusion takes over.
That is why I am pleased to recommend Dr Manrina Rhode’s new six-week course, AI for Dentists.
During a recent webinar, Manrina “hired” an AI team member live in front of 171 dentists. In an hour, it read Google reviews and drafted a reply to the most difficult one, spotted an auto-renewal clause hidden in a supplier contract, and turned a practice manager’s rough notes into a patient newsletter.
Crucially, it did so without patient-identifiable information entering the system. That principle sits at the heart of the course: no patient names, dates of birth or identifying details are entered.
The programme begins on Monday 7 September and delivers one module each week for six weeks, supported by two live calls and a questions channel. It will tackle the two jobs those dentists said they would happily remove from their working lives: writing up notes and producing treatment plans.
This is not simply a lesson in asking AI to write a social media post. It is about creating repeatable systems that save time while respecting the boundaries that matter. The promise is not less dentistry. It is less administration after the dentistry.

AI will not replace judgement, experience or human care. Used well, however, it can return valuable hours to the people delivering them.
