There are just 2 months until the Mouth Cancer Foundation Awareness Walks which take place in Old Deer Park, Richmond Upon Thames on Saturday 05 September 2026.   THANK YOU to those of you who have signed up. There are still places available at this year’s walk so please encourage any family, friends and colleagues to get involved. Simply register here - https://register.mouthcancerwalk.org/
Â
There is something for all the family. So, whether you take on the 10 KM challenge, taking in a beautiful route along the River Thames and Richmond Riverside, or enjoy the family-friendly 5KM walk, every single step helps raise awareness of head and neck cancers and supports those affected.
Â
Along the route, enjoy enthusiastic cheering to keep you motived as you march through the Ks and entertainment for all the family including a treasure hunt with prizes, face painting and our mascot Duke to keep the children entertained. The Dental Screening Unit and our Past President’s Dental Screening team will be there plus we’re planning an information area where we hope to offer up useful information for patients and members of the public.
Â
Finish and celebrate together! Enjoy catching up with friends, a celebration ice cream, coffee or picnic and take home a medal, T shirt and goodie bag full of surprises. All the details are at www.mouthcancerfoundation.org
Â
Every step taken helps us raise vital funds to increase our patient support and raise awareness to combat mouth cancer.Â
Â
The Mouth Cancer Foundation Awareness Walks from Home are growing in popularity so we are sticking with this fantastic opportunity to open up the walking events to more people than ever before. Dental Practices are getting particularly creative with how they walk during October and November so we’re challenging even more Dental Surgeries to sign up and get involved. Walk From Home will start on Thursday 01 October until Monday 30 November so plenty of opportunities to get those 10Ks in.
Â
The Mouth Cancer Foundation Awareness Walks were created by the Mouth Cancer Foundation. Patients, family, friends, carers, the dental community and medical professionals walk together to raise awareness and fundraise for all head and neck cancers. Participants have raised over £650,000 and lots of awareness in the previous Mouth Cancer 10 KM Awareness Walks.
Â
Why support the Mouth Cancer Foundation?
There are over 10,825 new cases of mouth cancer in the UK every year.

The majority of deaths from mouth cancer occur because of late detection, due to a low public awareness of the signs, symptoms, and risks.
Â
