Our weekly "open mic night" for clients (an hour's live webinar) was brought forward by a day this week, as I'll shortly be leaving for a 5-day trip to Northern Ireland.

As usual, a few scenarios sent in via email during the day, but mainly the questions came live from those attending (and will be watched/listened to later this week by those who couldn't).

Here's a summary of what we covered last night:

But I have to say, my favourite quote of the evening, from a client who has been though 8 receptionists in 12 months........

"Don't panic buy people."

I really appreciated this perspective. It’s easy to rush into hiring when things feel overwhelming, but that usually creates more problems than it solves. Taking a step back and focusing on long-term fit makes so much more sense. It’s a good reminder that, whether you’re leading a practice or even researching book proofreading services in Canada for a new project, patience and clarity lead to better outcomes.
