Real People. Straight Talking. No Blathering.

One of the less enjoyable features of AI is that it's like the boring person you meet at a drinks reception, who doesn't realise that small-talk should be brief.

Have you ever been in "that" conversation, when you are becoming increasingly desperate to move on, but the person opposite thinks they have met someone who is genuinely interested in them - and just won't stop blathering?

I used to find myself facing the same dilemma with ChatGPT.

I asked a question, I got the beginnings of an answer, but then I was asked "a clarifying question" by the AI.

It was a problem at the start of my AI usage - getting tempted down a rabbit hole of deeper enquiry, as if ChatGPT was a lonely party-goer who needed a sounding board.

Experience has made me swifter - I can either ask a question and be very specific about how brief I want the answer to be - "cut the crap and get to the point" - or I can simply walk away in mid-conversation.

Wouldn't it be great if you could do that at a dental dinner?

On which point - I've been asked to be the inaugural speaker at The Dental Dining Club on Thursday 8th October at 19:30 - The Ampersand Hotel SW7 3ER.

Founder Dr. Claire Nightingale has invited me to to talk on:

Making Independent Practice Win : "How to beat the corporates and the competition in your post code. A field guide to best practice in 2026/7."

I promise you the following:

  • No boring small talk (at least from me);

  • No AI-generated sweeping generalisations;

  • No diplomacy.

Straight talking guaranteed - probably bold, outrageous and controversial. Specifially designed to give the guests a winning edge in a competitive marketplace.

Drop Claire an email if you are interested - simplyorthodontics@ymail.com

I promise real people, talking about what matters - and briefly.
