57 emails in 60 minutes
That’s what just happened – 6.30am in a hotel in the North Lakes Hotel, Penrith, Cumbria and I seem to have rattled through the overnight emails very quickly. I wouldn’t want clients to think I rush through their requests for help – perhaps 2/3rds of the emails are internal – Team CB staying in touch with each other on operational matters and me casting a leadership eye over things and adding my comments where necessary (and requested!). The client emails do require rather more consideration – but the benefit of coaching dentists for 10 years is that we have accumulated a knowledge bank that can be drawn from. Yesterday a simply brilliant practice visit with the team at Ashby Dental and Wetherby Orthodontics – if only they were all this good….I’d be out of work! Their new Welcome Packs and business referral cards arrived whilst I was there and it was like welcoming a new baby – I was as excited as the team. Congratulations to Jack, Richard and Megan – who have created a world-class practice – and to the Team, who deliver world-class service with a winning attitude. Dinner last night in Cumbria with a principal and his two associates to dicuss their plans for the next 5 years – a most enjoyable meal in a local Italian restaurant with laughably poor customer service. Quote of the evening from our very young Cumbrian waitress (who has obviously never been to either Italy or a training day):
“Do you want black pepper or not!”
After which she literally threw the plates and cutlery on the table and stormed off as we all burst out laughing. Today, I’ll be conducting a team meeting for 25 in Carlisle – we’ll be reviewing their Patient Journey and Marketing Plan until lunchtime and I’ll then be coaching the owners on leadership skills this afternoon. Then a holiday weekend – yippee!
