Missing the boat: why sitting still could cost your practice everything

In the last few weeks I've had a real sense that we are experiencing a massive acceleration in the pace at which the world of dentistry is changing.

There's no doubt that the BDIA Showcase first, followed by IDS Cologne, have played their part in developing my opinion - that, together with conversations with clients and a general observation of the dental landscape.

Last week's workshops in Belfast were definitely the icing on that cake, listening to Neil Harris describe how his business is embracing technology and he is altering his financial modelling to survive in the brave new world of 2025.

When I started my own investigations into how Open.AI is changing the way we should adapt our marketing, little did I know where that research would take me and how it would completely alter my approach to Inbound Marketing.

Last Friday I think I even surprised myself as I was delivering the material and thinking how much of what I was saying changes the marketing process.

I really do feel sorry for those clients who, in the last few years, have "taken a break from coaching in order to consolidate what they have learned".

I'll be meeting with my business coach later today to review my plans for this quarter. I think I mentioned in the blog last week that she had gently reminded me that our contract was up for renewal and, almost before she had finished the sentence, I replied "sign me up for another year".

I'm not taking a break from coaching at any time. It's lonely enough running your own business.
