How four chairs running full-time transformed our private gross and boosted EBITDA

Here's the kind of email I love to read - it's a real client, real numbers.

"Today all 4 surgeries used. myself, new associate - still very much a donkey but growing, then racehorse hygienist plus budding racehorse hygienist.

New associate grossing £1,000 a day. Not good enough yet but growing in confidence.

Racehorse hygienist grossing £1,425 per day.

Budding racehorse hygienist grossing £1,075 per day. One half-hour slot empty. Not upselling yet on whitening or fissure sealants but is working to 100% utilisation most days.

I grossed £6,500. 

OCPSPD (operating cost per surgery per day) is £750 so the business overall made 20% profit before tax and Owner's drawings.

Therapist/hygienist working 3 days a week - 1 day therapy but growing.

From 01/09 Associate adding a day.

From then all 4 rooms will be working 5 days a week. 

Therapist started 2 months ago. Gross private June/July this year is up 50% on same period last year.

Extra associate 3 days per week. Extra hygienist 2 days per week. Extra Therapist 1 day week.

I have dropped 1 day per week. 

Chair utilisation shot through roof. 

Talking to accountant this week about how EBITDA is changing.
