From 100 to 200 and beyond: the next chapter for Extreme Business and The Campbell Academy

From community to movement: the next five years start now

Since January 2021, The Extreme Business 100 community has been built around a simple idea: bring together ambitious independent dental business owners, support them consistently, and help them grow stronger, more valuable, and more enjoyable practices.

At any one time, the community has been centred on around 100 members. On the surface, that sounds like a fixed number. In reality, over more than five years, it tells a much bigger story.

Like any membership community, there is natural movement. Some practice owners achieve their goals and move on. Some sell. Some change direction. Some simply reach a point where they no longer need the same level of support. With an average annual churn of 20%, that means around 20 members leave each year and are replaced by new business owners ready to begin their own growth journey.

Over five years, that movement adds up. A community of 100, with 20% churn each year, means that The Extreme Business 100 has helped around 200 dental businesses since January 2021.

That matters, because it shows both stability and reach. Stability, because the community has remained strong and relevant enough to sustain a core group of 100 members. Reach, because the impact has extended far beyond the headline number. Behind those 200 businesses are hundreds of owners, managers and teams making better decisions, improving profitability, strengthening patient experience, and building practices that are less stressful and more valuable.

For us, this is not just a statistic. It is evidence of momentum. It reflects years of coaching, accountability, shared ideas, practical tools, and honest conversations about what it really takes to run a successful dental business.

Two hundred practices helped. One hundred members at a time. One clear mission since January 2021: to help independent dental businesses grow with purpose, confidence and results.

Now, that mission enters an exciting new chapter. With the merger of The Extreme Business 100 and The Campbell Academy, our vision is bigger, bolder and more ambitious than ever. By bringing together business coaching, leadership, clinical education and a shared belief in excellence, we now have an opportunity to support many more independent dental businesses over the next five years and beyond.

This is about more than growth in numbers. It is about widening our impact across the profession. Together, we want to help more owners build sustainable, profitable and patient-centred practices. We want to help more teams develop confidence, skills and clarity. We want to support practices not only to grow turnover, but also to improve culture, create opportunity and increase long-term value.

The future is not simply about maintaining a community of 100. It is about building a movement that reaches deeper into independent dentistry, sharing practical ideas, proven systems and real-world support with a far wider audience.

If the first five years helped 200 dental businesses to grow, the next five years can help many more. That is the opportunity in front of us now, and that is the vision we are committed to delivering.
