Flu season cancellations or market signal? Why dental practices must stay alert this December

Early reports this morning, on my clients' WhatsApp Group, of an increase in short notice cancellations due to flu symptoms - is that a London-based phenomenon or more widespread?
I do not need to catch anything right now - 6 days of travel ahead, including a main-platform presentation at the Portman Dentex annual conference in Birmingham tomorrow, then my own workshops in Edinburgh, followed by a panel session at The Indian Dental Association conference near Heathrow on Saturday. Busy, busy. No time for infections!
Our December newsletter will be out shortly, including an important announcement that, here at Extreme Business, we are hiring!
Who? For what? - Watch out and you will discover.
I'm hiring because I believe that 2026 is going to be a year of growth potential for all of us. That might seem counter-intuitive, given all the doom and gloom in the media about the economy.
But, as I mentioned last week, I've been here before with Labour Governments, and I know that we are about to enter a period of opportunity. About which I'll be commenting further here.
For now - Happy Monday - and let's get December going.
