Dental practice exit strategy with AI and GPT: set the date, hit the number

From workshops to autopilot: how the exit gap calculator builds your 2026 plan
From workshops to autopilot: how the exit gap calculator builds your 2026 plan

At the risk of sounding clichéd, every week now I'm finding that my dedicated version of ChatGPT, The Extreme Business Autopilot©, is capable of doing remarkable things.

On Friday this week, I begin a new series of regional workshops for The Extreme Business 100 and, after listening to Mike Hesketh on "Commando-style Practice Growth" (Thursday), I'll be offering a full day session on "The Date and The Number".

My objective is to share a new approach to determining your exit-date from Ownership and the pre-tax sale value of your business - then reverse engineering to determine the exact business trajectory required to get you there.

GPT has already assisted me in building "The Extreme Business Exit Gap Calculator©" and I'll be sharing that with my first cohort of clients in Belfast at the end of the week.

It's built, it is working, and it identifies the gap between where you are and where you need to be to achieve a desired sale price on a planned date.

Even more thought-provoking is "The Exit Planner Module©" that sits inside my Autopilot.

I'll be honest and admit that I'm still building it, even with just three days to go - but it's fascinating to be working on a GPT that, once it has been fed the date and the number, will guide clients on their 2026 business plan (and beyond), after asking a series of questions.

No - it's not making me, or anyone else, obsolete. It is, as Geoff Woods, author of The AI-Driven Leader, keeps telling us, the ultimate thought-partner.

I'm sticking my neck out as I don't know if my GPT will be fully operational by Friday - the delegates might be testing it with me - but once it's done, it will be a very impressive addition to my tool-kit.
