The three gaps that terrify a dentist

Writer: Chris BarrowChris Barrow

  • #1 - a gap in a row of teeth;

  • #2 - a gap in the appointment book;

  • #3 - a gap in the team;

Here's the paradox.

You would never put a rotten tooth into a gap in a row of teeth.

But you are happy to put a rotten patient into a gap in the book.

Equally happy to put a rotten recruit in to a gap in the team.

Just to fill the gap.

The rotten patient generates no profit (and may cause problems).

The rotten recruit generates no productivity (and will cause problems).

Hold the line - good patients and ideal team players only.

A gap is always better than a rotten replacement.
