Course Summary
In this extended series of interviews with Matt Hadman from Practice Plan, I have fulfilled an ambition held since The Extreme Business Academy was first imagined - and that was to create a one-stop guide to every aspect of Dental Plan implementation:
- Why dental plans are good for patients and good for business;
- How to conduct a successful conversion from NHS to plan dentistry;
- How to introduce a plan to an existing private practice and
- How to switch from one plan provider to another.
My objective was to create a resource that could be viewed by owners and managers, by team members and by hygienists, therapist and associates.
Equally, that everyone would gain knowledge and useful tips that would help them to communicate effectively with patients on this subject.

Module 1 - Why implement a dental plan? - 23 mins
Chris introduces Practice Plan Regional Support Manager, Matt Hadman and discusses the primary reasons to implement a Dental Plan in your practice for your patients, your cash flow and your team members.
Module 2 - Capitation vs. Maintenance - 15 mins
Chris interviews Matt on the difference, benefits and drawbacks of Capitation plans versus Maintenance plans.
Module 3 - NHS Conversions and Patient Plans - 20 mins
Matt and Chris address the issue of NHS to Private practice conversions and how a dental practice membership plan can help with the process.Â
We discuss planning for your conversion and the financial modelling necessary, the three ways to complete your conversion, and how to communicate it to your patients.
Module 4 - Implementing a plan in your Private Practice - 16 mins
Matt and Chris discuss implementing a Dental Plan into your Mixed or fully Private Practice.Â
Module 5 - Changing Plan Provider - 10 mins
In Module 5 we discuss the steps to take if you are considering changing Plan provider to make the transition as seamless as possible for both you, your team and your patients.
Module 6 - Challenges and how to avoid them - 8 mins
In Module 6 we discuss the potential challenges with a Dental Plan and how to avoid them.
