Google reviews - a marathon, not a sprint

A couple of Saturdays ago, I handed out 40 Google review cards at the Dental Monitoring conference, and predicted I'd get a 10% response, even though the majority of the room told me they would write a 5-star review.
Last night, I handed out another 40 Google review cards at the BDA Reading and suggested the same.
4 Reviews came in from the ortho conference.
Another 4 reviews are in from the BDA delegates this morning - I'm actually impressed that the second set of reviews have arrived so quickly.
10% success each time - and that has been a pretty consistent success rate over the five years or so that I've been handing my QR codes out.
I'm a tortoise, not a hare.
Five years of asking and this morning a total of 389 reviews, all 5-star.
Chip, chip, chipping away, every meeting at which I get the chance.
Marketing is never a get rich quick business, and anybody who tells you it is will undoubtedly be selling snake oil.
No surprise that I'm a (now retired) marathon runner and long-distance cyclist.
p.s. so what? - Because "search" can see those reviews and assumes I'm the expert. You can be the expert too.
