A pause to reflect upon the passing of a friend
After an extremely busy day I was just finishing my Academy webinar recording last night when the awful news came through that our friend and colleague Dr. Anoop Maini had unexpectedly passed away on Monday morning.
There are moments when you remember forever where you were when you “heard the news” – this will be one of them.
Much will be written over the days ahead by those far more qualified to comment on the qualities of this gentle man, who welcomed me to his practice many years ago and who entertained Ashley and I with a lovely podcast just a few months ago.
We will all return to the hullabaloo of our own lives today and the antics on the national and international stage.
As a loving wife and family, a dedicated team, a loyal patient cohort and many industry colleagues begin the long journey of coming to terms with this tragic loss – we on the periphery count our blessings and are reminded that our challenges and irritations are as of naught.
Anoop – your days were well lived.
Look to this day: For it is life, the very life of life. In its brief course Lie all the verities and realities of your existence. The bliss of growth, The glory of action, The splendour of achievement Are but experiences of time.
For yesterday is but a dream And tomorrow is only a vision; And today well-lived, makes Yesterday a dream of happiness And every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well therefore to this day; Such is the salutation to the ever-new dawn!
