Teleseminar on maximising your appointment book
Chris | March 29, 2010Here is fellow coach Jane Lelean, promoting a REALLY USEFUL teleseminar on Thursday 8th April.
I’m not in business with Jane and she is not paying me commission for this mention.
In fact, she doesn’t even know I’m mentioning her.
Its just a darn good idea – and I live in an abundance mentality and not a scarcity mentality.
The more business coaches there are – the more people hire us!
And I get really pissed off with consultants and coaches who think they are the only ones with any good ideas.
Go Jane!

Travelling
Chris | March 24, 2010After three glorious days at home I’m feeling much recovered from last week’s chest infection and ready to hit the road again.
Lunchtime today will be a long-overdue management meeting with Phillippa in Exeter – and then on to Orthoworld in Southampton, where I’m hosting a referral study club meeting with about 20 local GDP’s.
My intention is to cover The Patient Journey but I’ll be happy to meander.
I’m very impressed with the work done here by Jess Davenport, the Treatment Co-ordinator at the practice in Eastleigh – she has done a great job of organising a programme of events for the year ahead.
Sadly I have to drive into the West End after the gig, so that I’ll be ready for the SOE National User Day at The Emirates tomorrow.
On stage with Ashley Latter!
Its the first time for a very long time that Ash and I have been on the same programme of events – and I’m hoping that we will be able to run a joint Q&A session during the day.
Two “Reds” at The Emirates – bizarre.
Off we go – so looking forward to the trip.

Using your iPhone for treatment planning
Chris | March 23, 2010
Today I have “written” my ezine and three magazine articles using my iPhone to dictate voice notes in Evernote, then emailing them to Phillippa for transcription and forwarding to the publishers.
It occurs that a dentist could dictate a treatment plan via iPhone in exactly the same way – and that, using Snagit picture capture (as above), salient features from your practice management software, digital photos and x-rays could be added quickly and without major expense.
Add Camtasia to bring it all to life with a video commentary for the treatment plan.
What a fantastic way to differentiate yourself from the competition and make more effective use of your time.
The Amnesty Letter
Chris | March 23, 2010
I know I’ve mentioned it before – but I get a great sense of job satisfaction when somebody actually tries out an idea I’ve thrown around.
So here is Julie Webster, marketing manager at Penistone Dental Care – taking my amnesty letter and adapting it to their own circumstances.
Dear Friend
Penistone Dental Care would like to welcome you back with a ½ price dental health check and introduce you to “WOW – Whiter on Wednesdays”, our new dazzling ½ price offer in time for summer! …….when you make your next appointment with the dentist, ask about our WOW offer.
According to our records, you have not been in to see your dentist here at Penistone Dental Care over the past 24 months.
This may be because you have found another dentist, in which case we surrender!
However, sometimes we find that clients simply forget to re-book a cancelled appointment and then find that so much time has passed since they last attended that they are embarrassed and concerned that their dentist or hygienist will reprimand them for non-attendance.
That’s not our style at Penistone Dental Care, we understand that you are busy and these things happen. Our responsibility and passion is to get you back to dental fitness, not to make you feel bad.
A regular, routine examination is paramount in keeping a healthy mouth and early detection of cavities and gum disease will prevent loss of teeth in future.
By special invitation, we are offering you a half price dental health check when you book your next examination appointment with us here at Penistone Dental Care. Your investment will be just £30.00.
This is a special one-off price available only to you if you book before 31st May 2010.
To take advantage of this offer, please contact us to make an appointment and be sure to mention this letter when booking.
If email is more convenient to you, please contact Elizabeth on reception@penistonedentalcare.co.uk and she will call you to discuss your appointment. Otherwise, please contact us on the above number and we will be only too pleased to help you.
We look forward to seeing you again very soon.
Kind Regards
The Penistone Dental Care team

Interview questions
Chris | March 22, 2010This morning a client asks:
“we have candidates arriving for 15-minute mini-interviews.
The position is as a member of our practice welcome team.
Do you have three quick-fire questions that will sort out winners and losers effectively?”
And I respond as follows:
Q1 – why do you think you are the right person for this job?
Q2 – what do you think are the top 5 characteristics of the successful candidate?
Q3 – give me an example from your professional life, of a time when you tore up the rule book to get a better result.
